Gas demand in Pakistan is 4.5 billion MMCFD, whereas supply is only 3.5 billion MMCFD per day. SMEs and family run businesses have to suffer because of this shortage, which forms 90 percent of the business sector. Unemployment, inequality and poverty have emerged as serious challenges for Pakistan with numerous social consequences.
